Delete your account

This page explains how to request the deletion of your Readendar account (app com.readendar.readendar, available for Android and iOS) and what happens to your data.

Deleting your account from the app

This is the fastest route and does not require you to write to us:

  1. Open Readendar and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile → Settings.
  3. Tap Delete my account and confirm.

For security reasons, if you signed in more than a few minutes ago, the app will ask you to authenticate again before completing the deletion.

Before deleting your account you can use Download my data on the same screen to save a copy of your library, your events, your quotes and your progress.

Deleting your account by email

If you no longer have access to the app, write to us at hello@readendar.com from the email address associated with your account, stating that you wish to delete it. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and handle it within a maximum of 30 days.

What data is deleted

When you delete your account we immediately and permanently erase:

  • Your account and your sign-in methods (email, Google identity).
  • Your profile: name, avatar and preferences.
  • Your library: books, statuses, ratings and private notes.
  • Your quotes and their notes.
  • Your reading events, plans and progress.
  • Your reading-club memberships.
  • The images you have uploaded for your avatar and for your book covers.
  • Your active sessions and the reminders scheduled on your device.

What happens to the clubs you created

Before you confirm the deletion, the app shows you exactly what will happen to each club you created:

  • If the club has another admin, ownership is automatically transferred to the longest-standing active admin. The club and its content continue for the remaining members.
  • If no other admin remains, the club is closed: it stops being accessible and disappears for all of its members.

What data is retained and for how long

  • Backups: your data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which it is overwritten in the normal rotation.
  • Closed clubs: the internal record of a closed club (its name and its readings) is kept unlinked from your identity, since it stopped being associated with your account when you deleted it. It is not accessible from the app.
  • Legal or accounting records: where a legal retention obligation exists, we will keep the minimum data required for the applicable legal period.

No retained data is used for advertising or for cross-app tracking.
